The Broccoli Coleslaw Minus the Mayo has a slightly sweet yet perfectly tangy taste that went so perfectly with the sandwiches.

Put it into a bowl to cool and assemble the Broccoli Coleslaw Minus the Mayo.

Then give it a good sear in a pan with some more sauce to caramelize a few pieces. So let's get back to this delicious pulled pork!!!!Īfter it slow cooked for 8 hours, I removed it and shredded it. It's hard to find the right foods these days, but thankfully with places like Whole Foods, I was able to purchase the pork there where the standards are set high, along with locally grown onions and beer from a local brewery. Ok, now for something a little closer to reality.Īh yes, that's much better (besides the caramel color.really TJ's?!). Yuck!!! High fructose corn syrup, modified food starch, sodium benzoate, corn syrup.? I started with the first bottle but quickly ran back to the store to find the TJ's brand with ingredients I know - it's shocking what our food system is capable of. The second picture is of a BBQ sauce from Trader Joes, and although the last ingredient is "caramel color" which I don't know, I at least know what everything else was. There were two actual ingredients I knew in it! I got queasy just thinking about how it. The first picture is from a Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce label. What do I mean? Just read the ingredients list below. So why am I talking about this in a post about pulled pork? It's simple - I took a really careful look at what I was using to make this recipe and immediately ran to the store to purchase new items. It opened my eyes to so many other topics in the food industry besides the basics of processing, etc, and I am appreciating more and more the benefits and effects clean eating has on this world. Delish pulled pork tv#
On Saturday morning as I sat down to relax with my cup of coffee, I turned the TV on only to find the documentary, Food, Inc. Lately I've been on a mission to encourage others to choose more sustainable and environmentally healthy foods. The easiest four-ingredient slow cooker pulled pork recipe you'll ever make, and so darn delicious you might cry tears of joy. 10 stars! It’s not so saucy (unless one wants to add BBQ sauce) and most of us prefer the no-added sauce version after these tweaks. The Easiest Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Recipe…Ever MMMMM! We love this less-vinegar version. Simmered that on low for ~15 min & spooned it over the pulled pork in the serving dish. Man, I tore that tender pork up! While doing so, I added a generous 2T local, real honey and about 1/2 C Stubbs BBQ sauce to the liquid. Nestled those seared lumps of love down in the liquid, set on High Pressure for 60 min Natural release for 15 min, then quick-release. Added 1/2t of South African Smoke spice and about 1/2t. Used only 1T Apple Cider vinegar and 1T Apple balsamic vinegar for this part to help with tenderizing.

Seared pork in grapeseed oil, deglazed with a 2-Cup mix of chicken/beef/veg stock (used up what I had in fridge). Lay the pork knuckle in an ovenproof dish and season well with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Delish pulled pork cracked#
I used a 7lb pork butt, cut into 6 chunks, dry-rubbed overnight with doubled-ingredients: subbed smoked paprika, added 1t chipotle pepper, doubled cracked black pepper- but no oregano. Instructions Preheat the oven to 350F/170C. However, we are really not great fans of the vinegary/Carolina style, so this time I tweaked it to suit us, and it was sublime! Fifth/6th? time making this recipe in my 8-QT Duo (once in the crock-pot after searing), it’s always delicious and 5 stars.
